About Us
God gives everyone a job to do in this world, and I have the great fortune of being a career first responder, as well as a professional first responder. Many view this as a blessing and it truly is, but it is my obligation as a follower of Christ to treat this blessing as a burden. The actions I take, the business practices I use, and the education I deliver as a first responder is a direct reflection on Him who created me.
Iowa American Rescue originally began as a very part time volunteer gig, teaching CPR and First aid for a small school that needed the help. I bought the supplies I needed to do a full class, and considered it to be a tithe of my time and talents while committing to keep them trained up as long as they had staff that needed certification.
Apparently everyone is always looking for a CPR class, and word quickly spread. To date, we have provided various types of medical training for the education, non-profit, and public safety sectors. We are NOT a large volume provider of low quality checkbox training. Many people teach a lot of CPR, but our carefully vetted instructor cadre actually DOES a lot of CPR. If you want the checkbox, go somewhere else.
IAR started as, and will always be largely educational in nature. One of the needs our first customers regularly brought up was for a supplier of medical and trauma equipment in a world of confusing sales gimmicks. As a trusted provider of medical training, we were naturally positioned to serve our customers by offering professionally vetted equipment recommendations.
Several years later we created the IAR forcible entry door prop kit, which is our flagship product for the professional first responder. We are always designing more training props and changing the definition of affordable training facilities.
This has brought us to where we are today. Take a look around, find a class, and make yourself or your workplace better. This is the essence of our motto, and why it is organized in the order it is.
You bring the desire to serve-
IAR gives you the ability to perform, and the equipment to act.
